Dylan is not feeling good today because we had to replace the ng tube over the weekend. Everytime we have to put the tube back in Superman ends up sick. He still has been refusing to cough. If we could get him to do that we probably wouldn’t have this problem everytime we replace th ng tube. Please keep him in your prayers and positive thoughts. Thank you in advance. He was resting last night with his niece Delilah. It was so adorable.
So the results showed that he was silently aspirating each time he swallows. We was told he could only have a half a cup of purees twice a day now. They also went back up on the ng feeds again. The biggest thing is they are always trying to push a g- tube for feeding. I want my son to be able to eat again. He loves to eat again he loves to eat. He is a cheeseburger and pizza guy. He is so sad not being able to do that anymore. He has been working really hard in his therapy’s. My first question was how is he suppose to gain his muscle strength in his throat if he is not using those muscles. They proceeded to tell me they have excercises for that and you can an appointment with me for that. Just show me the exercises and I can do them at home because you should of did that while he was inpatient at Kennedy kreiger. He shouldn’t be like this in the first place because of seizures.
Dylan got haircut last week. He always look so much older afterwards. Superman is having a wonderful week so far. Remember his appointment is Friday so please continue to pray and send positive thoughts for a good outcome.
This guy right here has a swallow study coming up this month. Hopefully he doesn’t end with any respiratory problems between now and then. We was told if he does have any respiratory issues the appointment would be canceled. His study is on July 19. So please keep Superman in your prayers and positive thoughts that he stays healthy between now and his appointment. This will determine if the ng tube can be removed. Now all we have do is get him up on his feet and walking on his own.
We just got done cleaning Dylan up! So, we decided to take a few pictures of him. But he was not to happy at first then he started smiling.
This guy has an appointment tomorrow at the feeding clinic at Kennedy kreiger! I hope they give us some good news about the nasal gastric tube and his feedings. The news I, wish for is that he doesn’t have to have it anymore because it has become a pain in the butt. Especially when he pulls it out, then it takes me awhile to get it back in. He does everything he can to hinder it from going back in. He will bite it, he won’t swollow it and he thinks it funny the whole time. Another reason ,I don’t like it is because he always ends up sick for a couple a days.
So Superman had an appointment with his pediatrician today and he was put on more medication for his breathing. This guy has never had any problems with his breathing until his long hospitalization. Oh not mention the ambulance rides to and from his appointments because he is still not cleared for car rides yet. His progress is slowly coming along. He ot,pt, and speech a couple times a week. His will start coming out soon for school. So, I have been busy since he has been home. Next week he has two appointments a follow up with the pediatrician and one at the feeding at Kennedy kreiger out patient. Please continue to pray for Superman and send positive thoughts. Superman decided he didn’t like the tube down his nose anymore so he removed it. He is getting a break from it right now, but at five it has to be replaced for for his feeding. I hope it goes well, because he he getting back to his bad self again. I can say one thing, I’m proud of how hard he is working in therapy. Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming.
Superman says happy new year to all his fans and may you all have a blessed new year. He has been doing pretty good the past few days. We will probably be heading to rehab within the next week or so. Superman is going to Kennedy kreiger for rehab. I only plan on staying for 2 weeks that should give them plenty of time to do what they need to get him back to himself.
