Follow up!

Superman had his follow appointment today. The doctor said he sounds much better today. He still needs to finish up his antibiotics though. How do you like his gloves? He has to wear them so he doesn’t rip his nasal gastric tube out. I know some of you will think it is cruel but, you don’t have to take a hour to put it back in. I am getting tired of the ambulance rides back and forth to his appointments. He has an appointment tomorrow at the feeding- clinic at Kennedy kreiger out patient center. I hope they up the amount he can have by mouth tomorrow because him sitting in the chair allday hooked to his feeds is not getting him any stronger. He is still having a hard time walking. When he does walk his whole body is shaking and he walks almost bent in half. He still has a long way to go before he will be walking again. This hospital stay really did a number on his strength. Please continue to pray and send positive thoughts for healing. Superman thanks everyone for all the prayers and love.

Superman has been working hard!

Superman has been doing awesome in therapy. He has been do well in his OP therapy, I think this is favorite therapy, because he gets to eat. They have been taking it slow with feeding. He has been getting a couple ounces a day of yogurt, applesauce, and pudding. In PT he has been working different things, like arm strength, walking and crawling. He is doing okay with this. He struggles with this part though but he giving his all. I am so proud of how far he has come since he has been here. The only problem is his sleeping pattern. It seems like every two days he will not sleep all night and he will stay up for 2 days and sleep all day the next day. When he does this he has an increase in his seizures, the only good thing is they don’t last longer then 20-45 seconds. Please continue to pray for my Superman. I would like to say thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts. Superman loves you all.

Superman update!

So, Superman has been doing some walking in rehab with the help of a lift. He also has the ball in the picture that motivates him to move. On Friday he did a lot of walking with mine and his PT assistant. I am proud of the progress he making.

Cards and trees!

Superman received more Christmas cards today! He also was given two Christmas trees, the one tree is a super hero themed and the other one is a baby Shark tree. I thought maybe Destiny could use at her baby shower. I also got a treat myself yesterday in the form of a massage. It was really relaxing. He is starting to move forward again. Please continue to pray for Superman and send out positive thoughts. Thanks for the cards and prayers.

๐Ÿ’œUpdate on Superman!๐Ÿ’œ

Superman is starting to get back to himself. He went down to IR yesterday and had another chest tube put in his right lung so that makes two chest tubes now. They are supposed to remove the first one sometime today. He was up most of the night coughing up secretions and being suctioned through a nasal trumpet. He has been having a few more seizures, they only last about 30 seconds. He sounds horrible. I still dont get how long it took to diagnose him with necrotizing pneumonia. I want everyone for all the prayers and positive thoughts. Please continue to pray and send positive thoughts.

๐Ÿ’œUpdate on Superman Dylan!๐Ÿ’œ

They took him off the ventilator yesterday, it was hard to watch him at first because he was choking and gagging a lot. He is doing much better today. Physical therapy came today and had him sitting up on the side of the bed first time in 21 days, he was getting tired from it. So he is resting now. He did have a fever overnight. So far today he hasn’t had fever. His blood pressure was a little low overnight. Baby steps but he his headed in the right direction. The chest Xray shows some improvement on in his lungs, but he still has ways to go. He has been doing a lot of wheezing today. I have been suctioning him a lot today, it is bring a lot of the junk up from his chest. He was happy to see you balls today but he didn’t grab for them yet. I think the chest tube is to painful for him to reach.

Update on Superman Dylan!๐Ÿ’œ

So, Superman had another CT scan yesterday and it is showing improvement. We came in the hospital for his seizures and ended up with necrotizing pneumonia. Which took them 12 days to diagnose. It is going to take awhile for him to heal. We are already going to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital. He has not been comfortable for the past 2 days. I think he wants the breathing tube out his throat. It must be getting uncomfortable since he has had it in for 20 days now. He is my baby and is still in need of prayers and positive vibes.
